In Brief

Neat Engineering is a machine shop situated in North West Sydney NSW, Established by John Anet in Leichhardt in 1984, we moved to Seven Hills in 1985, Riverstone in 1991 and our current premises in Riverstone in 1995. We bought our first NC (tape) machine, an Ikegai ANC20 with Fanuc model 20A control in 1985, this was followed by our first CNC lathe and then a machining center in 1986. While specializing in CNC turning and CNC milling we also have a horizontal borer and provide other machining and fabrication services. We first used MasterCam in 1988, but have since converted to GibbsCam. We have been using M1 ERP system since 2000.

The objective was to make quality and value metal machined parts in Australia. Back in 1984 CNC was not considered as an 'every day' method to produce general metal machines parts. Over the years the benifits in quality and flexibility have made CNC ubiquitous in western machining. Since the early 2000's quality has taken a back seat to price in the marketplace. Yet with all the cheap product flooding the market, there still is a requirement for quality parts at value pricing. We have customers who require parts overnight or in a week, customers who have very specific requirements, customers who want to discuss their requirements in person and customers who are sick of making a ten hour plight every time their supplier 'forgets' their quality requirement.
